Hi All, Some of the British MTBO team have been to the Denmark training camp for the past few years. Last year the camp was in Sweden, which was superbly organised. In 2011 the training camp will return to Denmark, from 6th to 10th April - the week before the World Cup in Hungary. Over the 5 days, several 'camp cup' competitions are organised. All the events are training exercises, but the competitions are put in to test athletes skills as you race faster. There is an overall camp cup winner in the Elite, Long and Short categories for both men and women, and the mid week punching challenge! The punching challenge consists of 15 controls in a circle and two athletes race head-to-head. First back wins and goes through the next round - the looser gets knocked out (not literally!). Last year Mark Stodgell was 2nd in the challenge! All-in-all the camp is a fantastic way to improve your navigation skills. With 2-3 training sessions a day and in an environment which is geared to help you improve - all athletes take new skills back home with them.
