Just a word of caution for those of you flying with SAS. I had a look on their website the other day - and the info about bikes is rather vague. Essentially you are allowed to take a bike for free as part of your 23kg limit. But it must be within the dimension 158cm (width+height+depth). If it is larger than this - which bike bags are - you have to pay an additional extra baggage of fee of up to £60. You don't have to book a bike on, and you can pay the extra baggage when you check-in online or at the airport. But the airline needs to be informed in advance whether you are bringing a bike either in writing or by their pay-stupid-amounts-of-money-to-get-an-automated-message hotline. I hope this doesn't count as 'old fart ramblings'! Old - I am younger than Conn. Fart - I have no wrinkles! Ramblings - I usually ramble somewhat. |

Just so I can decide Thursday or Friday, where are those going out Thursday planning to stay Thursday night - Stockholm area or up to Rättvik or what? |

Just spoke to SAS and yes I joined their phone loop till I finally spoke to somebody. I booked my bike on. The guy I spoke to then told me it would cost 30 euros with dimensions 158cm (width+height+depth). I think the next dimension price was 45 euros for 179cm. This price was for both ways! So I guess pack your bike up small. He did confirm that you get 20kg allowance for your bike plus your free 23kg. Intereseted if anyone found anything different.
