British Orienteering - I am already a member of BO, why do I need to join BMBO?
British Mountain Bike Orienteering has its own insurance for cycling events. This ensures ALL riders and organisers are covered for 3rd party insurance.
ALL BMBO riders are eligeable to enter National and Regional leagues regardless of membership type. If you ride you count, Associate or Full Member.
Full members get a discount to all events they enter. Associates riders pay the full entry fee.
Echeques - why can't I pay by echeque.
BMBO do not accept payment by Echeque.
These payments take up to 9 days to clear and there is not a way of automatically linking this payment to your membership account.
Email Address - I share an email address with somebody else who is already a member.
We check email addresses to prevent people joining multiple times because they have forgotten their account details. Unfortunately this is a pain for you and us, we must manually check your account.

Password choice, you can change it later:
We will manually join you as an Associate, you can then login and upgrade your membership or renew as you wish.
Email Address - My email address is not accepted by the membership system.
If the an email address is already in the membership data base, you already have a membership account.
Login and renew your current membership account.
Forgotten your Password or Login Name? Ask the system to send you a new one.

How can I become a member of British Mountain Bike Orienteering?
Click on the "Join Now" link. Associate membership is free online, for more information about membership click the "Membership Information" tab.
Login - My login details do not work!
Either your Login Name is incorrect or your password is incorrect, or both are incorrect.
Login Name: If you put a space in your login name, the space needs to be replaced by a _. ie login: Firstname_Surname
If you have forgotten all your login name and password, request new details from the system as follows:
1. Go to the login page (Member Login)
2. There is a request login details link.
3. Enter your BMBO registered email address.
4. Your details will be sent to the email address we have registered.
If you have changed email address and not kept your details upto date, contact the membership secretary with the following:
1. Your full name
2. membership number or DOB
3. New email address
4. We will change your email address and tell you when it is changed.
5. You can then request your login details again from the membership system.

Login Details - My details never arrived when I asked for new ones.
If you have changed email address and not kept your BMBO account up to date, you will not get the new details. They have been sent to your BMBO registered old email address.

You will be informed when we have updated your email address. You can then request your login details from the membership system again.
Membership Card - My membership card has not arrived by email.
There are two answers to this:
1, You have not completed the renewals steps and are NOT a member of BMBO.
2, You have an old email address registered. login again, update your email address and manually Download the membership card, it will show your current membership status.
Payments - I do not want to pay online, but want the online membership discount.
No worries. We understand some members are reticent to pay online.
1. Join or renew as an Associate.
2. Ensure you use the confirmation email link reply to the confirmation the account.
3. Send a cheque with your BMBO number written on the back.
We will upgrade your membership manually and a new membership card is issued automatically to your registered email address.
Renewals - how do I renew my membership?
Renewing Full or Asscociate Membership
Login into your membership account.
The "Management Portal" opens
Select "My Membership Details".
Select " Renew Membership" from the Membership Details Section.
Select your choice of membership, Full or Asscociate.
Click "Update" to select the membership you want
Click "Confirm Order" in RED letters to confirm your membership renewal choice.
Read BMBO membership terms and conditions, tick and submit your application.
Pay by paypal (Full members) or validate your email address (Associates)
Associates must validate their email address by replying to the confirmation email.
All renewals will receive a membership card by automatic email.
If you do not get your membership card, you are not a member.

Validation - Why must I validate my email address?
Validating your email address does several things:
1, Stops people creating multiple accounts just because they forgot their password.
2, Stops "Spam Bots" filling our membership with dummy accounts.
3, Allows us to contact you about renewals, e-newsletter, cancelled events.
Youth membership - how do I renew or join?
Renew - contact the membership secretary with:
Youth name:
Youth membership number:
The account will be checked manually and renewed.
Join - Contact the membership secretary with a the following:
Name:
Surname:
Login Name:
Login Password:
DOB:
Email:
the Membership secretary will create an account for the youth member. You can then login and add the missing information.
