Event Report
Otley Chevin Winter MBO event //
//There was an excellent turn-out of 66 riders for the first NYMBO event of 2011. Geoff Moorhouse had checked out his summer course and although the competition area was only 35 km square there was plenty of route choice to keep everyone happy. Brilliant tracks in the Chevin Forest Park, a great bridleway network to the south which wasn't too icy and a big ridge across the middle of the map to concentrate the mind. The Royalty made an excellent event centre again and the 1-25000 map was very easy to read.//
//If you enjoyed navigating in the area you may want to take part in the AIRE events on Saturday evening or Sunday morning 12/13th February which both start from the Royalty. Check out www.aire.org.uk //
//Impressive riding from John Houlihan and Tim Patterson who managed all 30 controls inside 2 hours while Steve Foster & Mark Barker would have done but for a puncture. David Day (M60) and Tim & Edwin Evans (Generation) were also close to clearing up. Congratulations to Lucy & Richard Griffiths who won X21. //
//Thanks to Steve Foster and Mark Barker for running the start. Thanks to Geoff Moorhouse and Andrea Foster for running the finish and checking the scores. //
//There were 2 items of lost property - a helmet and a glove. Please let me know if they are yours.//
