Event Report
Black Mountain MBO – Winter Wanderland 1 – Forest of Dean
A cracking day and well done all the competitors, old and new who took part in the first Black Mountains MBO Event of 2016 in the Forest of Dean on Sunday, especially those who cleared the course!
The weather was kind staying dry and mild throughout the day and I think there was only one 100m muddy patch to lookout for if you stuck to the black and purple routes on the map.
It was great see a full breath of ages & experience take part, plus it was fantastic to see so many new faces; we hope you enjoyed you first ride out with us and be back for more.

We only had 2 CP interfered with and I hope the missing tape from 08 & 11 didn’t cause too much delay. Clearly someone in the forest was making an early start collecting shiny stuff for their Christmas decorations!
We have decided to run the Winter Wanderland as a mini Series, best 2 of 3 to count and the Award Ceremony will be after the first BM MBO 2016 - 3 ˝ hour Series Event in Pandy 10 Apr 16. The standings will be displayed on the Black Mountains MBO Facebook page and club webpage www.blackmountainsguiding.co.uk (MTB Orienteering) in a few days

Event 2 - St Briavels Common, will take place on Sunday 14 Feb and is filling up fast. Just think what a fantastic Valentine’s Day present an entry for this will be for the one you love.
Last but not least, I would also like to thank Gary and Pedal a Bike Away for their invaluable support getting the event off the ground and Pat and Staff for the grand refreshments afterwards.
Thank you all and see you at the next one
