British MTBO Long Course Championship
Posted: 29/04/12
The British Long course Champs were held at Foxley on 28th April. Riders who remembered the conditions of two years ago were in for a real shock this time. The 'drought' hitting much of southern Britain produced a week of torrential rain which turned the courses into a real mud fest! Colin Palmer who had based his course lengths on the fast times of 2010 took pity, much to the relief of many of the riders, and reduced the distances at the last minute. In the event, winning times proved to be about right.
Congratulations go to Andrew Douglas and W50 World Champion Charlie Somers Cocks, who proved more than a match for the conditions, to be crowned the first British Champions of the year.
Age class winners went as follows:
W21 Rebecca Bright
W50 Charlie Somers Cocks
W60 Denise Harper
M21 Andrew Douglas
M40 Killian Lomas
M50 John Rawden
M60 Pael Graetz
Junior Edwyn Oliver-Evans
