At the recent AGM a number of MBO Score issues were discussed and votes were taken resulting some changes for the 2019 season.//
////
//• Rule 13: The use of GPS is not allowed.//
//Whilst the use of GPS or Smart phones that contain mapping software can be a valuable safety feature competitors are reminded that their use is not allowed in the spirit of fair competition. If they are carried for the reasons of safety then they should not be used as a navigation aid and should not be visible during the competition.//
//Devices that do not contain mapping and are used to simply create a route log or as a timer are acceptable.//
////
//• With the growing number of E Bikes taking part it has been decided to recognise a new single category of ‘E-Bike’ to the National League Prize list. In the past they have been allowed but have been non-competitive.//
////
//• When calculating the scores for the National league table the points awarded will be based on the ‘average of the top 5 riders’ instead of just the top rider.//
////
//• Riders who clear a course within the specified time limit will now be awarded bonus points at the rate of 2 points for each whole minute within the time limit. //
////
//• Mixed teams will now have the designation MIX21, MIX40 etc//
////
//• All SI timing equipment is now enabled to allow the use of contactless SIAC timing chips. Riders and organisers must remember to use the ‘Check’ box to activate the SIAC before starting. Note that equipment from sources other than BMBO may not be SIAC enabled.//
////
//• ‘Autodownload’ timing software will be gradually replaced by the new ‘SiTiming’ software throughout 2019. Organisers will need to familiarise themselves will this new software. Support available.//
////
//• A range of good value BMBO branded merchandise will shortly be available through the BMBO website.//
////
//• There will no increase to membership fees etc for 2019!//
