Event Report
Planners report This was our first time at planning and we wanted you all to experience the fantastic riding that is available in Brandsdale and Farndale, so after photographing 60 possible control sites we finely got it down to the 30 to use on the day .We arrived at Fadmoor village hall at 08:30, opened up and helped the farmer put up the electric fence for the car park field. Steve arrived with all the signs and signing on stuff so we were ready.
It was fantastic to see ninety riders compete in the event in this great biking area. The day started hot and sunny and we thought it was going to be anther day like we had on Friday 3rd where we were still sweating putting out the controls at 22:00. As we got you all set off in glorious sunshine, the weather soon changed and we were hoping everyone had an extra layer in their pack. It was strange to see you all going off for the ride and us not taking part but time soon passed and the first riders started to return. Everyone seemed to enjoy riding the event even through the wind and mist up on the high moor. Many of you had sampled one of the best down hill single track sections on the moors going to No 28 ( our favourite too ). As many planners will have thought before, how could Andy Conn get 495, and if he had not suffered a puncture he would have probably cleaned up on the route that took three of us eight hours to put out all the controls on Friday.
So I would like to thank the kind and friendly people of Fadmoor for allowing the use of the village hall and the parking field, my riding mates for helping me put out and collect the controls and all the usual dedicated team who help out at all the NYMBO's events.
