The weather gods smiled on us, as after a couple of weeks of dull but dry weather, it brightened up and the sun came out for the last SLOW MTBO of the season. Added to that, the Surrey Hills trails were almost mud-free! We were definitely lucky as two days later the temperature had plummeted and rain had shown how Yoghurt Pots got its famous name.

A healthy number of entries meant the competition for the podium would be fierce, although series winner Ian Cartwright was absent. Regular riders Mark Humphrey (2nd), Tom Davies (3rd), Nuno Cerqueira (4th) and Ifor Powell (5th) were tightly spaced within thirteen points of each other but they were out-ridden by Campbell Walsh, who came home a superb 48 points ahead of Mark, the next placed rider. He achieved this with a shorter distance than either Tom or Nuno!

Top female rider was Rachel Clay.
