The Parish hall at St Leonards just south of Tring was the perfect base for riding the Chiltern Hills. After 2 weeks of very high temperatures the 40 riders were greeted to a cooler 18 degrees to ride the dry and fast trails.
The compact route had a possible clearance of just over 40 miles and winning the event was Will Dixon who was brought up on the southern part of the map and managed it in 2hrs 52mins.
There was lots of decisions to make with the controls being close together and a few riders including the top 3 riders missed the entrance on to the correct track at CP 15.
Tom Davies came second with all the check points but just over 4 minutes late but his great route was 1.5 miles shorter than Will Dixon and Alan Elder was 3rd overall

Being a round of the Shield Trophy with had a good turnout from The Midland MBO group and Si Gittings from Black Mountains came 4th overall. First in the ladies class was Beth
Perrou 11th overall for Black Mountains.
