Many thanks to Chris Swift for planning the course at Gamblesby at the weekend. Chris decided to use the same map as three years ago but just move a few controls around as well as change a few scores to alter the challenge. If any one noticed then nobody complained, in fact the feedback we got was very complimentary.

Flat was not a word that was used very often! Riders could opt for a short but monster climb near the start, up to Hartside pass or a longer, slightly gentler loop exploring the lonely Gelt valley to the North. The area was deceptively hilly with even the "easy" controls in the valley bottom involving a lot of climbing due to the undulating nature of the terrain.

Well done once again to Tom Gibbs who managed a clean sweep but just outside the 4 hours limit. Angela Brand-Barker was first Woman with Mike Hayward taking his fifth win in the series on E bike.

The highlight of the day was the magnificent spread of food offered by the local WI ladies who spoilt us with filled jacket potatoes and a whole variety of different fruit crumbles. A huge thanks to them and I know that they really appreciated the many kind comments they received afterwards.

With 6 events gone and only 1 to go the league table is beginning to take shape.

Alex Relby is still leading the men but Angela Brand-Barker has moved in to pole position in the Women's event. Mike Hayward has now completed a clean sweep winning 5 events to take an unassailable lead in the EBike class. Torver is your last chances to get some points. The prize giving will take place after the Torver event. The latest league table is in the October newsletter. Will you be receiving a Wheelbase Cycles voucher?
