Thanks to everyone who took part on Sunday and to the massive contingent of Black Mountains riders who headed along the M4. Congratulations to Ian Cartwright who led overall with 566 points and to Rachel Clay who was the fastest female with 500 points.

Checkpoints were concentrated on the map in order to keep away from the worst of the mud. There was a tempting cluster of points on Bucklebury Common but many people decided to avoid this navigational challenge and head elsewhere. A clearance was possible at about 60km, a few people got close to this but still had to decide what to drop.

Apologies to those who couldn’t make this event. We were aware that we had a triple whammy on date clashes. Getting a rideable winter area, date and suitable venue for Feb/Mar meant we had to compromise. We have spare maps and you can still ride the course at any time.
