Event Report
Firstly a recap on the venues with our short description and comments afterwards.//
////
//11th May Teggs Nose/Macclesfield Forest - the perfect trailquest area (no.1) - stunning scenery, a great network of high quality tracks (both forest and moorland), hills, rocks and last but not least an uphill finish!!//
////
//18th May Chapel-en-le-Frith - both Dark and White Peak District in one event, what more can we say//
////
//25th May Parsley Hay - flatish and fast (and we totally caught you out with the event area!!)//
////
//1st June Castleton - as superb and as ruffty tuffty as ever; just 5* mountain biking//
////
//8th June Millers Dale - tunnels, hills and lots of slippery limestone//
////
//15th June Chesterfield - the perfect trailquest area (no.2) - off-road straight from the start, deceptively hilly and a great network of tracks and trails requiring a lot concentration throughout (not good for some then!)//
////
////
//As ever when we planned the venues and areas we aimed to provide a wide variety of mountain biking and navigational challenges to try and keep everyone happy (not always easy to be honest but we keep trying!!). We are so lucky in having the playground of the Peak District at our doorstep with all that it offers in the way of terrain, scenery etc and this does make our lives as event organisers and planners a little easier.//
////
//We thought we took a bit of a gamble this year in setting up the series with events on six consecutive Wednesdays (this is the only way we could fit the events into our life/work schedule) but we were proved wrong. The event numbers throughout the series have been excellent and the feedback from riders has been very positive; in addition the quality and consistency of riding throughout the series seems to have improved week on week and has absolutely blown us away at times. All you have to do is to look at how close the scores are at each event plus the final placings on the final league table go to the results page to see that it's been very competitive; at the same time there's always been a good "vibe" both before and after the events.//
////
//Looking at the final league table Class A was equal pegging from the first event onwards by Ben Plowman and Andy Douglas and we could only split them after the last event under our tie break rules so well done to Ben in the end. Both of their performances on the last event at Chesterfield were astonishing, clearly they both wanted to win the event and the series and they both cleared the course with around 20 minutes to spare!//
////

////
//As usual the series has given us as organisers a lot to remember it by, mainly the general feeling of enjoyment by all the riders. There has been as ever the usual raft of excuses about poor performances, stunningly bad navigational errors, bike breakdowns, lack of even the most basic repair kits (that's a favourite one!) etc etc etc but even through all of this everyone has just shrugged their shoulders and got on with it! Thanks to everyone for making our life easier in this respect.//
////
//A quick thanks must also go to Rob Dixon for helping us out at the last event and providing some very popular post-ride doughnuts! Rob has just set up his new cycle repair business in Chesterfield called Igloo Cycles www.igloocycles.co.uk.//
////
//Thanks to Jez for taking literally hundreds of event pictures over the six event series, these can all be seen by clicking the Picture Gallery link on any of our web pages.//
////
//Look out for plenty more mountain bike events over the coming weeks and months in and around the Peak District details on our mountain biking page.//
////
//Keep fit and enjoy the rest of the Summer!//
