Event Report
Oa were all far too early today, everything was set up ready to go well before 8:00, this gave us time to explore the event centre a little more, ‘’Another World Adventure Centre’’ luckily only 2 min by car up the road from Ogden Water Visitors Centre, this was lucky due to a few competitors having the wrong registration centre info, not a mistake we will allow again!
People started arriving in a steady stream from about 8:45, a few old faces were first to arrive and soon we were busy registering them along with a lot of Oa virgins after a lot of chatting and generally just enjoying the sunshine. A little after 9:15 the first ones were heading out to the starting dibber, the weather let us down badly and failed to produce the heavy showers it had promised, instead we were attacked by beautiful sunny skies yet again we managed to run an event on one of the hottest mornings of the year, which caught a few off guard, with the choice of clothing for the ride leaving a few a little over heated.
Results then, well first of all well done to all that competed and judging by the smiles you all enjoyed yourselves. First place goes to Graham Fielding with 355 point, not far in front of second place Tim Evans with 330 points closely followed by joint third, male team Martin and Max Vesty, and solo entry John Rawden (you will have to look at results on www.organicadventure.co.uk to see how the league figures are looking!)
Another World Adventure Centre is having an open day next Sunday with all the activities reduced check out their website for details.
The next event for us is at Todmorden on the 26th August, I had a sneak preview of the mapping for this one on Friday…you are all in for a fantastic 3 hours riding some great new trails and one or two lovely little climbs, Yorkshire at its best!
