Event Report
Thanks to Frank & Sandra Appleton for an excellent course, Jens for a very clear map and the Blackamoor Inn for a very warm welcome.//
//Congratulations to John Dixon (M60) - the overall winner - and to the junior riders who came 3rd and 4th - Nathan Parker with 345 pts and Max Vesty with 339 pts. Here are are John's comments and route.//
//I had decided from the blank maps to head SW at first as the canal cut the area off leaving one no options if coming back that way. //
//Maybe should have left #2 for the finish if there was time rather than get it first. But I didn't so it was 2, 1, 6, 11, 26, 16, 13, 21 via the A168, 28, then did 18 - 14 - 23 and the bridleway was wet and slow. Would it have been better to do 14 - 18 - 23? Then 19, 29, 25, in and out for 30. Should I have carried on round for 15 then 24? Didn't. Into the wind for 24 and calculating that I'd be 12 minutes late didn't try for 15, 9, 27 or 7 but head down and time-trialled back to the finish to be 8 minutes late.//

//Our next event is the first League event of 2014 at Sutton Bank on Saturday 15th March. Andy Parsons has planned an excellent course in great countryside and we are starting at the visitor centre so excellent cafe, bike shop and toilets.//
////
//This is followed by the British MTBO Sprint Championships on Sunday 16th March at Wheldrake Woods & Bishopwood near York. Andrew Windrum has planned 2 very fast courses in these intricate woods.
