Event Report
Thanks and well done to everyone who competed in this year's South Gloucs MBO Score event.//

//The tracks were generally still fast after heavy rain the previous week, but being bone dry three weeks ago meant that they became a bit sticky in places rather than the quagmire they were in March. The rain also brought on the wild garlic, bluebells and nettles, resulting in some controls being moved at the last minute.//
////
//Originally planned to be around Didmarton, this had to be changed due to the clash with Badminton Horse Trials. So the course was not as flat as originally intended, and so not so friendly for beginners and those with acrophobia. Sorry about that! //
////
//The meandering Cotswold Edge tested route planning, to avoid too many climbs, and looking at the splits, there was plenty of route choice. Some of the navigation in the woods around Dursley and in Westridge Wood proved to be challenging, and the tape marker having been removed from CP9 unfortunately causing frustration for a few.//
////
//Competition was close at the top, with Ian Cartwright coming off best with 560 points and winning the M50 category, beating M40 Mark Morgan by just 3 points and only 40 points from a clearance. Tim Gilbert was top of M21 with 380 and Anne Draper was top lady with 339. Jane Robinson and Mark Sharp were top mixed team with 258, and Bob and Tommy Cant 247 in the Generation class. Well done John Parfitt for defying the years with 160 in the M60.//
////
//Thank you for supporting our chosen charity, the Great Western Air Ambulance, for which we have raised around £250.//
////
//The next events in the SW League are the Sleepovers, in west and central Dartmoor on 18 and 19 July. They are separate events but both count towards the league scores.//
////
//Finally many thanks to everyone who helped on the day and all of you who attended and helped make it a success.//
